“What I dare…I will!
What I will…I do!”
Loren Lee Upton
1935-2022
Join us on the adventure of a lifetime.
Let me start by introducing myself: Patty Upton, a mom, a lifetime Girl Scout, a hopeless romantic, a voracious reader, and Loren Lee Upton’s traveling companion and wife. Loren passed away in 2022; he was a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a romantic adventurer, a former Marine, a retired bridge builder, and my rock.
It is now time to tell his story and share the man I knew and loved with the people he wanted to inspire. Loren’s unwavering optimism and desire for high adventure have taken him around the world and into the Guinness Book of Records.
Since early childhood, Loren has dreamt of being an explorer, doing something different, venturing into the unknown, overcoming obstacles, being first, and reaching that unreachable star. Any dream is possible if one has the determination, desire, and patience to go after that star.
Our story spans more than four decades: before global positioning systems, before the Internet and Google, before cell phones, and before digital cameras. Let that sink in for a minute. During that time, we experienced some very dark lows, but more importantly, we encountered even more exhilarating, brilliant highs.
Please join us on our adventures out back of beyond!
